“I started seeing Dr. Hartley about a month ago. I have fibromyalgia, M.G., myositis, arthritis, and osteoporosis. I usually stay in bed for 3 to 4 days, no sleep, depressed, stressed and very unhappy that I can’t do anything with my family, because I was in so much pain constantly.

“It is so easy to tell you how much I appreciate Dr. J. All my life I have had back trouble because of scoliosis (curvature of the spine), then two auto accidents with a neck injury did not help the situation. Dr. J was so helpful and explained my condition and made me aware of treatment for scoliosis and how it would help.

Boy! Did they help!

Being a senior citizen and working would not be possible if I didn’t visit Dr. J at least 3 times a week. I work as a cashier at Publix and look forward to my visits with him. “I am a 50 year old man who has had severe neck and back problems for most of my adult life. The excruciating pain and numbness had become so bad it affected my every day activities, as well as making it impossible to get a good nights sleep. X-rays had revealed several herniated discs. I had been told by a doctor several years ago that I had no choice but to have surgery to ease the pain. Not being a big fan of surgery, I decided to see Dr. Hartley for a second opinion. He assured me he could help my situation with chiropractic care and that I wouldn’t need the surgery. This sounded like the way to go.

To make a long story short….after about the fourth visit I started to feel like I did 20 years ago. Now that I have been going to Dr. Hartley for about five months, my neck feels about 90% better and my lower back, there is definite improvement. I can now sleep without waking up every half-hour in extreme pain. I no longer get fatigued just walking up a flight of stairs or taking a walk on the beach. I am living a much more productive life which I owe to Dr. Hartley. With continued treatment, I am certain I will be benefiting from chiropractic care for many years. The thought of having back surgery is no longer in my plans.  Another bonus to going to Dr. Hartley is I have not even had a cold in the five months of coming here. I used to get colds and sinus infections on a regular basis. It’s true —-chiropractic care DOES have a positive effect on the immune system. I will continue to tell friends and relatives about the benefits of chiropractic care.

“February 13, 2005 was the worst day of my life. I became very aware of the word pain. I woke up feeling pretty good, until I put my feet on the floor. All of a sudden I was in the worst pain of my life.

I was screaming, I could not sit or walk or do anything at all. I broke out in a cold sweat and was so nauseated I thought my life was over. the pain was so severe that I passed out cold. I fell to the floor and my husband had to leave me there because he has a bad back and could not lift me. He made sure I was ok and waited for me to come too. In two hours I woke up to more severe pain than I have ever known in my life.

My husband called Dr. Hartley and he said to bring me in right away. Steve tried to get me up and out to the car but it was a losing battle. He called Doc back and told him he could not get me there. Dr. Hartley offered to come to our home to help me. I thought house calls went out with high button shoes but this dear man was willing to come and see me.

Well I finally got to the office and after a couple of adjustments Dr. Hartley thought there might be something else wrong with me and advised me to go and get an x-ray. I went to the hospital and they kept me for a week, running all kinds of tests and giving me morphine. Most of that week I was asleep from all the drugs. When I left the hospital I was in as much pain as when I entered.

Depression became my middle name. With my cane in hand I knew I had to get back to Dr. J, he was my only chance at  getting better.  I went back to the man I trust to get me well.

Thank you Dr. J from the bottom of my heart for giving me my life back. I am now smiling and I no longer need the cane!!!!  You are #1 in my book forever.”
