“I am a 50 year old man who has had severe neck and back problems for most of my adult life. The excruciating pain and numbness had become so bad it affected my every day activities, as well as making it impossible to get a good nights sleep. X-rays had revealed several herniated discs. I had been told by a doctor several years ago that I had no choice but to have surgery to ease the pain. Not being a big fan of surgery, I decided to see Dr. Hartley for a second opinion. He assured me he could help my situation with chiropractic care and that I wouldn’t need the surgery. This sounded like the way to go.

To make a long story short….after about the fourth visit I started to feel like I did 20 years ago. Now that I have been going to Dr. Hartley for about five months, my neck feels about 90% better and my lower back, there is definite improvement. I can now sleep without waking up every half-hour in extreme pain. I no longer get fatigued just walking up a flight of stairs or taking a walk on the beach. I am living a much more productive life which I owe to Dr. Hartley. With continued treatment, I am certain I will be benefiting from chiropractic care for many years. “February 13, 2005 was the worst day of my life. I became very aware of the word pain. I woke up feeling pretty good, until I put my feet on the floor. All of a sudden I was in the worst pain of my life.

I was screaming, I could not sit or walk or do anything at all. I broke out in a cold sweat and was so nauseated I thought my life was over. the pain was so severe that I passed out cold. I fell to the floor and my husband had to leave me there because he has a bad back and could not lift me. He made sure I was ok and waited for me to come too. In two hours I woke up to more severe pain than I have ever known in my life.

My husband called Dr. Hartley and he said to bring me in right away. Steve tried to get me up and out to the car but it was a losing battle. He called Doc back and told him he could not get me there. Dr. Hartley offered to come to our home to help me. I thought house calls went out with high button shoes but this dear man was willing to come and see me.

Well I finally got to the office and after a couple of adjustments Dr. Hartley thought there might be something else wrong with me and advised me to go and get an x-ray. I went to the hospital and they kept me for a week, running all kinds of tests and giving me morphine. Most of that week I was asleep from all the drugs. When I left the hospital I was in as much pain as when I entered.

Depression became my middle name. With my cane in hand I knew I had to get back to Dr. J, he was my only chance at  getting better.  I went back to the man I trust to get me well.

Thank you Dr. J from the bottom of my heart for giving me my life back. I am now smiling and I no longer need the cane!!!!  You are #1 in my book forever.”

“For eight long miserable months I was unable to think about anything other than the pain in my back and hips. My Parkinson’s Disease affected my legs making it not only difficult to walk, but also put my back and hips into spasm. One day in October 2004, after an especially painful episode, I decided I needed chiropractic help. I called Dr. Hartley’s office and made an appointment for the following day.

I shuffled into Dr. Hartley’s office leaning on my cane. I could barely get onto the table. I moaned at every adjustment. But after the first adjustment my back felt better – for about an hour. However, as the weeks wentby, each adjustment made my back feel better, and for longer periods of time.

Last week I realized I felt different, more alive. Suddenly it hit me! I had no pain! None!! What a wonderful feeling! You never know how good having no pain is until you experience it.

I have a nice little success story about my niece, Brooke.  At the age of two, she was having major problems. She was continually plagued with kidney and bladder infections. In one year she had seven infections. 

Nothing was making them better. Her mother took her to many specialists who strongly urged her to proceed with surgery. It was some “new” surgery, and they wanted to experiment with Brooke. Her mother came to me asking me for advice, and I told her that we needed to get her adjusted. I requested that we wait until her follow up in one year before we make any decisions about surgery of any sort. So we began adjusting her spine, and let her INNATE do the rest. Brooke went back to the urologist, who was not happy that she had chosen not to do surgery and to see a chiropractor instead, for her one year check-up. The most amazing news one could ever expect…All lab tests were 100% NORMAL!!! It was awesome. No surgery, and Brooke is now going on 5 years old, and I am very pleased to say that she is one of the healthiest little girls that I have ever known

Back a few months ago I made the decision to seek the help of Dr. Hartley for a long standing pain in my lower back.  The pain was constant and started radiating down my leg affecting my Achilles tendon area and my ability to walk normally.

After my initial screening and adjustment the pain at the back of my foot was gone, as my body resisted the adjustment the pain did come back but has since disappeared completely.

The pain in the back has diminished greatly, I had not known the extent that my back bothered me, the abuse of such an intricate skeletal structure had shown wear over the years and the pain was just accepted over a long period of time.

My overall health has always been pushed to the high levels, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.  Every six months I have a blood work up that showed my ill health, after two months of treatment from Dr. Hartley my last blood work up came back with all levels normal.  When you are aligned properly you rid yourself of dis-ease and you feel better.  If you feel better you are more apt to do more, if you do more your overall health increases.

Thanks to Dr. Hartley and his crew, I am more conscious of my posture, I am able to visually see what I do wrong and how the misuse of my skeletal structure has a direct link to how I feel.
